Angela Raiola, who is well known as “Big Ang” on the reality TV series Mob Wives, is still alive and fighting for her life, a representative says, rejecting reports that the TV personality had passed away.

“The news that has been reported is TOTALLY INACCURATE. Please respect her family, and their privacy at this time,” a representative said in a statement. “All of the media outlets currently reporting (her death) are reporting FALSE INFORMATION. .. Angela is still in the hospital surrounded by her loved ones, and is fighting.”

The reality star’s death had been reported by both Entertainment Tonight and the New York Daily News, as well as other media outlets.

Big Ang, 55, is in hospital undergoing treatment for stage 4 brain and lung cancer, but chemotherapy that started in early Janaury has been unsuccessful. Her family launched a GoFundMe campaign earlier this month to help cover medical bills, which has so far raised more than $45,000.

Angela Raiola, known as “Big Ang” on the reality television show Mob Wives, is the niece of Salvatore Lombardi, who was a captain of the Genovese crime family. She rose to fame starring in the reality series, which was later retooled as another spin-off titled Miami Monkey. Raiola owned a bar called the Drunken Money in Staten Island, New York for seven years.
