Police and other emergency services in California are responding to reports of an active shooter at the YouTube headquarters in San Bruno, officials and witnesses say.
“Active shooter at YouTube HQ. Heard shots and saw people running while at my desk. Now barricaded inside a room with coworkers,” YouTube employee Vadim Lavrusik said on Twitter.
A large number of emergency services are responding to the scene, but details were not immediately available. It’s unclear whether police have confirmed a shooting and, if so, if anyone has been injured.
“Please stay out of the area,” San Bruno police said.
Todd Sherman, another employee at YouTube, said he was in a meeting when he and his colleagues felt the floor rumble because people started to run. “First thought was earthquake,” he said.
