Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski has been arrested and charged with simple battery after surveillance video showed him grabbing journalist Michelle Fields at a campaign event in Florida, police say.

The incident happened earlier this month when Fields, who was at the time working for Breitbart, was attempting to ask Trump a question. Lewandowski had denied touching Fields, calling her “delusional” and an “attention seeker.”

Jupiter Police said that Lewandowski was arrested just after 8 a.m. ET on Tuesday on a charge of simple battery. The department also released a report and a surveillance video that appears to confirm Fields’ allegations.

Responding to the news, the Trump campaign said Lewandowski is “completely innocent” of the charge. “He will enter a plea of not guilty and looks forward to his day in court. He is completely confident that he will be exonerated,” the statement said.
