BMW chief suggests possibility of more electric car models

The chief of BMW has suggested in a German newspaper that there’s a possibility that the company will develop another in its line of “i” electric vehicles.

“Between the i3 and the i8, there is space if you look at it from the number point of view”, said Harald Krueger to told Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung, when asked whether the company was planning new models.

He also said that he could not give any more details yet.

Krueger also said BMW was in contact with major technology companies, including Apple, over connected cars.

Late last week various news outlets reported that BMW and Apple were previously discussing partnering on electric vehicles. Tim Cook was said to have visited BWM executives late last year. The two are rumoured to rekindle talks that were put on hold, after the visit by the Apple to the headquarters of the world’s biggest maker of premium, luxury vehicles.
